At Windstar we limit breeding and training to two ponies a year. In 2011, Windstar Phoenix Moon was foaled and we were thrilled. He was by Pecan Creekâs Standing Ovation and out of Morningstar Bright Promise and was a delight from the day he was born. He won every in hand trail class he entered and was everything anyone could wish for in a Welsh. He learned to load, lead, halter and stand for the farrier quickly and quietly. At one show I looked up and a show visitor had placed his five year on this quiet 18 month old! Unfortunately, he broke his shoulder in a freak pasture accident and had to be euthanized. We still miss him.
